Bribón and Rats on Fire renew their reign in the CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy
Sixteenth Conde de Godó for Bribón and tenth for Rats on Fire. The two Catalan teams are the undisputed kings of the prestigious regatta organized by the Real Club Nautico de Barcelona since 1974. On the decisive day of the 46th CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy, the Bribón-Movistar of Marc de Antonio and Sofia Bertrand has shone with its own light in J80 to remain as the most successful team in the history of the event, while in ORC 0 -1 Rats on Fire of Rafael Carbonell has left no option for surprises. L'Immens-Laplaza Assessors of Alexandre Laplaza in ORC 2, Vertigo Dos Texia of Antonio Guasch in ORC 3-4 and the Russians New Territories and To be continued in J70 and Dragon , respectively, are the rest of the winners of this edition marked by meteorological instability.
In J80, the Bribón-Movistar of Marc de Antonio and Sofia Bertrand (RCNB) has shone today, with two partial victories. It is the 16th victory of the Bribón in the Conde de Godó, adding eleven titles in cruises and five in one design, consecutively since 2017. The most successful team in the history of the Conde de Godó Trophy has signed a luxury championship playing at home, with four first places and a fifth. Les Roches-CrisandKim Travel of Pepequin Orbaneja has been second, while the female boat Dorsia Sailing Team takes a meritorious bronze.
In ORC 0-1 Rats on Fire has won its tenth title of champion of the Conde de Godó Trophy and the seventh consecutive. Rafael Carbonell's Swan 45, with Rayco Tabares at the helm, has added another partial victory today to extend their reign one more edition, this time with an eight point lead over his immediate pursuer, which has been Estrella Damm of Oscar Chaves. In ORC 2, L'Immens-Laplaza Assessors of Alexandre Laplaza has achieved its fourth CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy, after the victories of 2018, 2017 and 1995. In ORC 3-4, the Salona 37 Vertigo Dos Texia of the recently deceased Antonio Guasch has been the winner, being his fourth title in the Conde de Godó. The Iván Moreno team from Ibiza, on board Espada 34 El Gaitero, climbed to the second stage of the final podium, which completes the Dehler 36 Tramendu of Salvador Vieta.
In J70, the Russian New Territories of Alexei Semenov, with Hugo Rocha on board, has won the CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy with comfort, without having to do the last race. Second has been G75 of G.
