Russian leaders in J70 and Dragon

Rats on Fire (ORC 0-1), L'Immens-Laplaza Assessors (ORC 2), Lady Mariline (ORC 3-4), Les Roches-CrisandKim Travel (J80), New Territories (J70) and Integrity (Dragon) are the first leaders of the 46th CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy, after a long second day of competition marked by the varying conditions of wind.

After yesterday's blank day, the 68 boats participating in the prestigious regatta organized by the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona since 1974 have finally been able to make their debut on the water. The six participating categories have completed a race in the morning, with a North-west of between six and eight knots. After a hiatus due to the fall of the wind, a South-west of about ten-twelve knots has been established and two more races have been completed in ORC, J80 and Dragon and three in J70.

In ORC 0-1 Rats on Fire, which is looking for her tenth victory and the seventh consecutive in the 46th CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy, has not failed and leads the classification. Second is another Swan 45, Brujo, while the DK 46 Estrella Damm is third.

No surprises in ORC 2, with three partial victories for L'Immens-Laplaza Assesors of Alexandre Laplaza (RCNB), which aims to repeat the feat of last year, when they took the win with full of firsts. Vell Marí VI of Juan Cabrer (RCN Palma) is placed in second position, followed by Es Tes Unno.

Lady Mariline by Nicolás Rodríguez (YCU-RCNB) leads the ORC 3-4 division, ahead of the Vertigo Dos Texia of Antonio Guasch (RCNB), defender of last year's title, and El Gaitero from CN Ibiza.

In J80, Les Roches-CrisandKim Travel of Pepequin Orbaneja is the first provisional leader, after signing a first, a third and a second. The other big favorite, the Bribón-Movistar of Marc de Antonio and Sofia Bertrand, has started with a fifth but has soon recovered with two first, to be placed on the second step of the provisional podium, ready to fight for her sixteenth victory in the CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy. Completing the leading trio, the female team Dorsia Sailing Team.

In J70 and Dragon, provisional victories for two Russian teams. In the first case, New Territories of Alexei Semenov with Hugo Rocha on board accumulates a comfortable advantage over her immediate pursuer, the Polish Moonraker of Alexei Boksa.

In Dragon two Russian teams lead the classification tied to points, Integrity of Mikhail Senatorov and Sunflower of Viktor Fogelson, followed by Gunter of Javier Scherk (RCNB), with a win in the first race of the day.

The last day of competition of the 46th CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy will take place tomorrow.

Grand première of 46 CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy

The horn of departure will be heard tomorrow, for the first races of the 46 CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy, the prestigious regatta organized by the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona and a great reference in the whole Mediterranean. Up to 70 boats are called to fight for one of the four mermaids in dispute in this edition, one for each participating class: the already traditional ORC cruises and J80, and the J70 and the Dragon.

The 46th edition of the prestigious CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy, organized since 1974 by the Royal Yacht Club of Barcelona (RCNB) with the support of the Godó family, will be held in the waters of Barcelona from 23rd to 26th of May, with the inclusion of interesting novelties, as announced today at the presentation. The regatta will gather this year some 70 boats and about 600 sailors, and eleven countries will be represented.
