Traffic Restriction Update
Sunday, May 31st
Dear members, regatta participants, and collaborators,
Regarding the traffic restrictions planned for Sunday, May 31st, 2026, due to the Race Against Cancer organized by the Port of Barcelona, and as agreed with the Port Police in coordination with the City Police (Guàrdia Urbana), we would like to share the following information:
Vehicle access to the club:
-
All participants and/or collaborators of the Godó Regatta arriving at the club by motor vehicle are strongly advised to arrive before 8:30am. Until that time, there will be no traffic restrictions or road closures.
-
Between 8:30am and 9:00am, the authorities, at their discretion, will be flexible with vehicles heading to the regatta. It is important to mention that you are attending the Godó Regatta, whether you are parking at the RCNB parking area (members only) or at Maremagnum. You must also show the accreditation attached to this email, either in paper or digital format.
We kindly ask for your patience with the authorities, as they will try to allow access whenever possible and when considered safe.
-
Between 9:10am and 9:40am, while the race is taking place, the authorities will assess the possibility of intermittently allowing access to vehicles heading to the regatta. It is important to mention that you are participants in the Godó Regatta, whether you are parking at the RCNB parking area (members only) or at Maremagnum. You must also show the accreditation attached to this email, either in paper or digital format.
We kindly ask for your patience with the authorities, as they will try to allow access whenever possible and when considered safe.
-
From approximately 9:40am onwards, the roadblocks will gradually be removed and traffic will slowly return to normal.
Opening of the Rambla de Mar bridge:
Between 10:15am and 10:45am --> This is the time window established by the Port Authority for the bridge opening so that participants can arrive on time for the scheduled 12:00pm start. We recommend that all participating boats depart during this time window to ensure they reach the starting line on time.
11:30am --> From this time onwards, the Rambla de Mar bridge is expected to resume normal operations, opening every 30 minutes as usual. Any boat that has not been able to depart during the previous window may do so from 11:30am onwards, although there is a risk of not reaching the starting line in time.
Breakfast, Skippers’ Meeting, and Weather Briefing:
Given the situation explained above, breakfast service will begin at 8:30am and the skippers’ meeting will take place at 9:30am so that crews can be ready to depart during the bridge opening window between 10:15am and 10:45am.
We are attaching the race route once again so that you can choose the best way to reach the club. We recommend accessing via Passeig Colom (the service road will be closed), as access from the Barceloneta side, although enabled, may face additional restrictions from the City Police starting at the intersection near Barceloneta metro station, making access more difficult:

We kindly ask for everyone’s cooperation to ensure the day runs as smoothly as possible.
Thank you very much and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,
Lluís Gubern Anfruns
