Same leaders remain in all classes

Barcelona, 31/05/25 – The third day of the 52nd Conde de Godó BMW Trophy was marked by light winds, allowing only one race to be held across all classes. The same boats remain in the lead, keeping everything open for the final and decisive day on Sunday.
Still leading their divisions are Aproperties Blue Carbon (ORC 0), HM Hospitales Hyatt (ORC 1), Windwhisper44 (ORC 2), Falapouco (ORC 3), Lassal (ORC 4-5), Odysseus (Promoción), Hang Ten (J70), and RCN Barcelona (Women’s Cup).
Racing started at noon with an easterly breeze (Levante) between 6 and 9 knots, which eventually faded. The Race Committees, led by Pere Sarquella and Aleix Ballester (ORC), and Elisabeth Centelles and David Sosa (J70, Promotion, and ORC DH), were quick and skillful in launching races just in time to save the day before the wind dropped further.
ORC DH and Promotion classes were the first to start, each with coastal courses: the former headed north with a rounding at Odas Blanes on the southern Costa Brava, while the latter sailed south to a turning mark at La Murtra near El Prat Airport.

In ORC 0, Aproperties Blue Carbon (Toni Guiu) remains in the lead after finishing second today. Urbania, skippered by Tomás Gasset, bounced back from equipment issues on the first day to win today's only race and move up to third overall. Lisa R, owned by Giovanni di Vincenzo, holds onto second.

In ORC 1, HM Hospitales Hyatt (Oscar Chaves) dominated in light winds to take the win. Although Soler Cabot (Rolf auf der Maur) tried to keep up, it finished fourth but remains second overall. M10 (Francés brothers) came second in the race and stays third in the standings.

Windwhisper44 from Poland, helmed by Joan Navarro, continued its dominance in ORC 2 with another race win, making it three in a row. Katara (Hermógnes & Diego Barcia) of Argentina is second overall, and local boat Es Tes Unno... (Xisco Soldevila) holds third. The podium in today’s race was completed by L’Immens and #Ebury, in second and third respectively.
ORC 3 remains the tightest class. Falapouco (Andrés Manresa) is clinging to the lead by just half a point. Wanderlust (Josep Pons), who won today’s race, and Sarchiapone Fuoriserie (Gianluigi Dubbini), who came second, are right behind and both still have a shot at victory on Sunday.
In ORC 4-5, Lassal (Gonzalo Calvo) stays unbeatable with three straight wins. El Travieso (Ángel Blázquez) follows with three second-place finishes. Es Cert (Manuel Medina) is third but must defend that podium spot on Sunday from Mowgli, Blue Star V, and Ildemar IV, all just one point behind.

In the J70 one-design class, Hang Ten (Guillén/Martínez/Cañellas) holds the lead despite finishing third today, slightly extending their lead over Yupi (Cardona), who is second, and Pine Pacific (Thailand), who is third. Today’s race was won by Noticia (Luis Martín Cabiedes), who is now fourth overall and could contend for a podium spot if a sixth race is sailed Sunday.

In the Godó Women’s Cup, RCNB skippered by Natàlia Via-Dufresne continues to dominate, ahead of CN El Balís (Bàrbara Cornudella) and Zona Norte-RCMS (Carlota Gala).
Organized by the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona in collaboration with the Real Federación Española de Vela and the Federació Catalana de Vela, the 52nd Trofeo de vela Conde de Godó BMW is sponsored by BMW and supported by La Vanguardia, the Ajuntament de Barcelona, and the Generalitat de Catalunya.
