The RCN Barcelona regatta has its first leaders: Aproperties - Blue Carbon (ORC 0), HM Hospitales (ORC 1), Windwhisper (ORC 2), Falapouco (ORC 3), Lassal (ORC 4–5), Korrigan 4 (ORC DH), Odysseus (Promoción), Hang Ten (J70), and RCN Barcelona (J70 Women’s Cup).

Barcelona, 30/05/25.– The second day of the 52nd Conde de Godó BMW Trophy, and the first for the ORC, J70 and Godó Women’s Cup classes, delivered excellent conditions, with a solid Garbí (southwest) breeze ranging from 8 to 10 knots in the first race and reaching up to 16 knots in the second, allowing two races to be sailed across all classes. Meanwhile, the ORC DH fleet completed their coastal course from Barcelona to Llosa de Palamós and back.
In ORC 0, the TP52 Aproperties - Blue Carbon skippered by Toni Guiu claimed the early lead after scoring two bullets in the big boat class. The Real Club Náutico de Barcelona team includes Dani Cuevas and double Olympic champion Luis Doreste on tactics, always a strong asset. The Italian Lisa R, a Farr 46 helmed by Giovanni di Vicenzo, the smallest boat in the group, is second after two second-place finishes, followed by the Swan 50 Tenaz, skippered by Pablo Garriga, with a third and a fourth, tied in points with Urbania, skippered by Tomás Gasset, in fourth.

In the competitive ORC 1 class, the expected duel between the two DK46s didn’t take long: HM Hospitales (Óscar Chaves) and Soler Cabot (Rolf auf der Maur) each claimed a first and a second, sharing the lead with three points, with CN El Balís in first place and RCN Barcelona in second. The third spot goes to M10 from Valencia, owned by the Francés brothers, who secured two third-place finishes—one of them tied with Desna, helmed by Germany’s Johannes Wackerhagen.
In ORC 2, it was an international showdown, with the Polish Windwhisper44 (Marczelli Sutkowski) leading, followed by the Argentinean Katara by Ready Set Go (Juan Pablo Marchesoni), and third went to local boat Es Tes Unno..., skippered by Xisco Soldevila, a consistent performer.

In ORC 3, Falapouco (Andrés Manresa) leads after a very tight start against Italian entry Sarchiapone Fuoriserie (Gianluigi Dubbini), both tied for first in race one. But in the second race, Wanderlust (Josep Pons) took the win, breaking the tie, and Falapouco from Torrevieja became the sole leader, followed by the Italian boat and then Wanderlust.
In ORC 4–5, Lassal (Gonzalo Calvo) continues in the same strong form as last year, starting off with two race wins. He is followed by Travieso (Ángel Blázquez) and Escert (Manuel Medina).

In the ORC DH class, which started on Thursday, the top three boats completed the 100-nautical-mile course Barcelona–Palamós–Barcelona in under 24 hours. Korrigan 4 (Joan Balaguer) was the first to cross the finish line in real time and also won on corrected time, finishing in 18 hours, 54 minutes, and 27 seconds. The CV Blanes boat arrived at 10:29 AM. Shaka (Iván Olivé and Toni Pozo) followed at midday in second, and Ia Orana (Jordi Zaragoza) took third. By Friday afternoon, the rest of the fleet was still racing, meaning they’ll have little time to rest as the ORC DH class has another coastal course scheduled off the Barcelona coast on Friday.

Among the J70 one-designs, HangTen, skippered by Món Cañellas, leads the standings, followed just one point behind by Yupi (Joan Cardona) and the Thai team Pine Pacific (Ithanai Yingsiry). In the Women’s Cup, the leader is the RCN Barcelona boat helmed by Natàlia Via-Dufresne.
In the Promoción class, Odysseus (Juan Meseguer) leads, followed by Nuba II (Maite Sierra) and Nobad Geseme (Beltrán Turró) in third.
Saturday’s forecast calls for three races for the ORC classes, a coastal course for the ORC DH and Promoción classes, and windward-leeward races for the J70 fleet.
